About Us
CENTER OF THE FUTURE ACADEMY, INC. was founded in 1989 in Kansas City, Missouri. We are a 501(c) 3 organization promoting initiatives to serve the people who need them most. Programing includes general, community and school-based mentoring, back-to-basics teaching, scientific learning and research, character development, positive esteem building, basic life skills, educational reform methods, small business assistance and training. We have fostered programming in Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, Virginia and currently North Carolina.
Anita Faber Spencer is the The Founder/Executive Director of this organization. She is a retired educator and administrator. She has been a curriculum developer, writer, consultant for diversity and gender equity, district-level administrator, desegregation coordinator, and successful mentor teacher, with a career spanning over four decades. As a community worker, she has organized, chaired, and continues to serve with educational, community, and civic organizations.
